New Delhi, July 12 (IANS) It’s good news for the Delhi government as its revenue collection has increased by a massive 33 percent in the first quarter of fiscal 2010-11.
Finance Minister A.K. Walia said the total tax revenue collection in this period was Rs.4,097.40 crore, compared to Rs.3,063.54 crore in the corresponding period of 2009.
According to officials, the collection in respect of stamp and registration fee was Rs.520.20 crore this year, compared to Rs.237.76 crore in 2009.
Value Added Tax also increased from Rs.2,314.12 crore to Rs.2,871.99 crore, taxes on vehicles from Rs.114.35 crore to Rs.153.04 crore, entertainment tax from Rs.4.51 crore to Rs.14.89 crore and luxury tax from Rs.37.70 crore to Rs.51.75 crore.
