Kolkata, Aug 19 (Inditop.com) Exports from Denmark to India are expected to grow by 25 percent by 2010, a senior Danish diplomat said here Wednesday.

“The boost in exports will come from the healthcare, machinery and energy sectors,” said Peter Sand, commercial counsellor at the embassy of Denmark, at an interactive session organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The total value of bilateral trade between India and Denmark is pegged at $1.2 billion, 45 percent of which is India’s import from Denmark.

Major items of Indian import from Denmark are medicinal and pharmaceutical goods, power machinery and motors, industrial machinery, metal waste and ore, wind turbines, vessels, and communication equipment.

India exports mostly apparel, garments, commodities, iron and steel to Denmark.
