Kolkata, May 28 (IANS) Consumer goods major Emami posted a 44 percent rise in net profit at Rs.39 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2010, over the corresponding period last year.

The company Friday said international business with revenues of Rs.45 crore has grown by 43.9 percent during the quarter. The growth for the year is 36 percent with exports at Rs.133 crore.

‘Growth is coming from all quarters – Middle East, CIS, SAARC countries and Africa. While development of new products and new markets continues, thrust is being put on increasing distribution and penetration in existing markets and to develop global brands,’ a company statement said here.
