Bhubaneswar, May 7 (IANS) A state-level land allotment committee of Odisha government on Thursday considered for recommendation of land for a food park and steel equipment company in Khordha district.

“ITC Limited, a multi-business conglomerate with diversified presence in Fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), has proposed to set up a food park with an investment of Rs.470 crore while Germany-based SMS India proposed to expand its unit with an investment of Rs.250 crore at Khordha,” said Vishal Dev, chairman and managing director (CMD) of Industrial Development Corporation of Odisha (IDCO).
The meeting was chaired by Odisha Chief Secretary G.C. Pati and attended by IDCO CMD Vishal Dev and other officials.
Vishal Dev also said the state government would provide 30 acres of land for the proposed food park and 14 acres of land to the SMS company. Besides, the meeting discussed land allotment for 27 new and 22 deferred projects.
The government had earlier given in-principle approval to the projects. The committee would recommend land allotment for the proposed industries to the Odisha government and after that IDCO, the nodal agency for land allotment to industries, would allot land to the industries.
