New Delhi, Jan 21 (IANS) The government said Friday that the prices of main food commodities were stable in Delhi during the week Jan 14-20.
‘As per data compiled by the Price Monitoring Cell, Department of Consumer Affairs, in the week ending 20.1.2011, the prices of main food commodities either declined or remained steady in Delhi,’ an official statement from Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ministry said.
The statement said that the price of onions, which had skyrocketed recently, have come down to Rs.43.50 per kg from Rs.58.50 per kg at the beginning of the week.
Quoting the prices of main commodities, the statement said the price of tur dal had decreased from Rs.69 per kg to Rs.68 per kg, moong dal declined from Rs.68 to Rs.67.50, urad dal from Rs.68 to Rs.67, sugar from Rs.34 to Rs.33.50 and potato from Rs.9 to Rs.8.
‘Prices of rice, wheat, atta, gram dal, masoor dal, milk, mustard oil, vanaspati, soya oil, sunflower oil, salt and tea remained steady over the week. Groundnut oil prices increased from Rs.134 to Rs.135 per kg. during the period,’ it said.
