Chennai, Dec 1 (IANS) Passenger car maker Ford India Monday said it sold 12,762 units (domestic 5,661 units, exports 7,101 units) last month up from 12,050 units (domestic 7,909 units, exports 4,141 units) sold in November 2013.
“The perceived improvement in consumer sentiment is yet to translate into better sales for the automotive industry. A lackluster festive season was certainly not what the industry expected,” Anurag Mehrotra, executive director, marketing, sales and service was quoted as saying in the statement.
“While we are confident of the long-term growth potential of the Indian market, we continue to be cautiously optimistic in the near-term,” he added.
Last month Ford India commenced retail distribution of genuine service parts with the appointment of its first exclusive distributor – Eminent Auto Parts — for the Delhi region.
Ford India plans to soon expand retail distribution of genuine parts to Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and eastern India.
