Mumbai, Sep 25 (IANS) Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) have pumped in $4.4 billion in the Indian equity market so far this month buoyed by strong economic growth outlook.
Foreign funds have been investing heavily in the Indian capital market for the last four weeks, driving the country’s benchmark Sensex over 11 percent higher.
The FII pumped in $297.39 million Friday, taking total investment in Indian shares to $17.3 billion so far this year.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) has gained nearly 15 percent this year, helped mainly by continued flow of foreign funds.
