New Delhi, April 26 (Inditop.com) Hindustan Motors Monday launched a CNG (compressed natural gas) version of its its mini truck “Winner” which meets the BS-IV emission norms.

The CK Birla Group company, known for decades for its Ambassador car, launched the light commercial vehicle (LCV) in Faridabad, adjoining the national capital.

“No other manufacturer has got BS-IV yet and HM Winner is far ahead in the industry to provide better technology and environment friendly vehicles. It is the first LCV in India which is BS-IV compliant,” said Rattan Singh, chief general manager.

The company expects to sell 2,000 units of these mini trucks by the end of the current year in Delhi alone. “The government order to convert all diesel commercial vehicles to CNG in Delhi will help us market it,” said Singh.

According to the company, the LCV market is the fastest growing in India. “From the current level of 2,40,000 units of sale, it is expected to grow up to a level of 450,000 by 2013-2014,” it said.

The company has entered into an agreement Intraco group of Singapore to sell the CNG-run Winner in Bangladesh.

“We expect that volumes of Winner model will grow in export markets as well,” the company said in a statement.
