Chandigarh, Oct 26 (Inditop.com) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda Monday urged the central government to release a bonus of Rs.100 per quintal for paddy over the minimum support price (MSP).

Hooda said the bonus was necessary as the cost of cultivation has increased considerably.

Hooda told reporters here that the government procuring agencies have been ordered to enter the market to purchase Basmati variety of rice also so that the farmers would get remunerative price for their produce.

Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar had indicated, during a meeting with Punjab and Haryana officials here last week, that the central government could announce bonus on the paddy MSP and also higher MSP for wheat to be procured next year.
