Hyderabad, May 3 (IANS) The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) here has received the third best airport award in Airport Service Quality (ASQ) for 2014 from the Airports Council International (ACI), the global body of airports.

S.G.K. Kishore, CEO of GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL), along with GHIAL officials and RGIA stakeholders, received the award at the ACI Asia-Pacific/World Annual General Assembly in Jordan, said a statement by GHIAL, the airport operator.
The RGIA retained its position among the top three airports in its category for the sixth consecutive year in the ASQ survey by ACI.
While retaining its ranking, the RGIA has been continuously raising its bar of service quality by improving on the ASQ score from 4.44 in 2009 to 4.82 in 2014.
Last year, the RGIA featured in the league of one of the few airports who were awarded the ACI Director General’s Roll of Excellence for consistently being in the top three rankings in the world in their category for five consecutive years.
