Hyderabad, June 23 (IANS) The Andhra Pradesh capital will host eINDIA 2010, India’s biggest event on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), from Aug 4 with Sri Lanka as the partner country.
The three-day international conference and exhibition will be held at Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC). Hyderabad is hosting the event for the second time in a row.
Being organised by Center for Science, Development and Media Studies (CSDMS) and Elets Technomedia, eINDIA serves as a unique platform for sharing knowledge in different domains of ICT for development. It also facilitates multi-stakeholder partnerships and networking among governments, industry, academia and civil society organizations globally.
MP Narayanan, Chairman, CSDMS, said the event would showcase cutting edge innovations in ICT across e-governance, education, rural development and health services.
Over 150 exhibitors will also showcase their latest solutions, services, initiatives and case studies during the exhibition. The exhibitors include professional service providers, technology vendors, consulting firms, government agencies and national and international development organizations.
About 5,000 international delegates will attend the conference.
L Suresh, president, IT and ITES Industry Association of Andhra Pradesh, said the domestic IT business was growing significantly. ‘The domestic business was Rs.66,000 crore last year, accounting for 22 percent of the total IT business in India,’ he said.
