New Delhi, Oct 1 (IANS) South Korea-based automobile major Hyundai’s Indian subsidiary Saturday reported an increase of 12.4 percent in its sales for September at 57,808 units as against 51,444 units in the same period of last fiscal.
According to the company, its domestic sales grew by 13.2 percent in the month under review, while the exports grew by 11 percent in the same period.
Segment-wise, the company’s sales were led by its the entry-level compact cars, including Santro, i10 and i20. These stood at 49,552 units followed by sedan segment, which has brand offerings such as Accent and Verna, at 8,051 units.
The company said it was optimistic about good sales figures after the launch of its entry-level compact car – Eon.
‘We will launch our much awaited compact car Eon this month. In spite of a sluggish market, we expect Eon to boost our sales and increase market share,’ said Arvind Saxena, director, marketing and sales, Hyundai Motors India.
