Mumbai, April 20 (Inditop) Indian equities markets started in the green on the first trading day of the week with a key index Monday ruling about 89 points higher than its last closing figure.
The sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened at 11,065.1 points, higher than its 11,023.09-point close Friday. After about 20 minutes of trading, it was at 11,112.2 points, 0.81 percent or 89.11 points higher than its previous close.
Similarly, the S&P CNX Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was at 3,401.65 points, 0.51 percent higher than its previous close of 3,384.4 points.
The BSE midcap index was up 2.02 percent, while the BSE smallcap index was 2.12 percent higher than its previous close.
