Bhopal, Jan 25 (Inditop.com) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will embark on a state-wide campaign this Republic Day to seek people’s participation in all-round development of the state.

Chouhan will embark on a “Madhya Pradesh Banao Yatra” (Make Madhya Pradesh campaign) from Amarkantak (in Anuppur district) Tuesday.

“During the course of his yatra, the chief minister will call upon people to extend their active participation in the fulfilment and universalisation of seven priorities set for the development of the state,” an official statement said late Sunday.

These priorities include making agriculture a profitable occupation, infrastructure development, increased inflow of investment, women empowerment, law and order and security, good governance and resources development, and health and education.

During the campaign, Chouhan will address public meetings and meet local citizens, entrepreneurs and social workers.

The chief minister will also interact with the officers of the administration and citizens to seek cooperation for programmes like water and energy conservation, greenery, sanitation, de-addiction, education and health.

However, main opposition Congress has described the campaign as yet another ‘drama’ by the state’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Claiming that there was no need for the chief minister to undertake such an exercise, state Congress unit president Suresh Pachouri said Madhya Pradesh had already been built and it is there for everyone to see.

“In fact, the need of the hour was not to make Madhya Pradesh but make sure that there was development and prosperity in the state, something which is not happening under BJP rule,” he said.
