New Delhi, July 23 (IANS) To enhance the customers’ retail experience, automobile major Maruti Suzuki on Thursday launched its new premium showroom range Nexa.
“Indian market and society are rapidly changing and new segments of customers are emerging. We have to take new initiatives to meet diversifying expectations from our customers,” said Kenichi Ayukawa, managing director and chief executive, Maruti Suzuki.
According to the company, nearly 100 Nexa showrooms will come up across India over the next 6-8 months.
The company has also hired about 1,000 relationship managers; and expects to recruit more in the next 6-8 months.
“Many of them (relationship managers) are being hired from the sectors like aviation, hospitality and financial services, expanding the talent pool of the automobile sector,” the company said in a statement.
The company said the new initiative is important for it to attain its medium term goal of two million annual sales by 2020.
The automobile major said its premium crossover offering S-Cross which debuts in August will be the first car to be sold under Nexa.
“Several new models will be added to both channels as part of the company’s medium term goal of 2 million annual sales by 2020,” the statement added.
Currently, the company has a market share in the range of 45 percent.
