Pune, May 13 (IANS) Automobile major Mercedes-Benz India on Wednesday rolled-out a new locally produced new C 220 CDI sedan priced between Rs.37.90 lakh and Rs.39.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

“We are glad to commence the local production of the C 220 CDI and are confident that we will be able to cater to the increasing demand of this world winner for our discerning customers,” said Eberhard Kern, managing director and chief executive, Mercedes-Benz India.
According to Kern, the company has increased the localisation content up to 60 percent in the new vehicle.
“We are confident that with the production of the new C 220 CDI in India, we will be able to create a higher benchmark in terms of local production of high-end luxury cars in India,” Kern added.
The new vehicle is produced at the company’s manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune. The local production of the new C 220 CDI commences within three months of the car’s India debut.
The new C-class sports a 4-cylinder diesel engine with a fuel efficiency of 19.27 km per litre.
The new vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour in 7.4 seconds with a top speed of 233 km per hour.
