New Delhi, July 15 (Inditop.com) The government is promoting an export policy regime for the textiles industry that will cover all potential markets including South East Asia, said Textiles Minister Dayanidhi Maran Wednesday.

The government is also promoting textiles mega shows in potential markets. The effort envisages not only identifying new markets but also attract foreign investment, he said.

“All the textiles export promotion councils shall be taking part at these mega shows to showcase ‘Made in India’ image in unison,” Maran said in a written reply to Rajya Sabha.

“Two such mega events have already been organised at Cape Town and Johannesburg in South Africa, Buenos Aires in Argentina and Sao Paulo in Brazil. Another mega textiles show will be organised in Japan from July 21-23,” he said.

More mega textile shows are being planned in Australia, Russia, South Africa, Argentina and Brazil in the later part of this financial year, Maran said.
