Sanand (Gujarat), June 2 (IANS) A fleet of nine Nanos driven by prospective customers who participated in an online contest, began a countrywide drive from here Wednesday to mark the inauguration of Tata’s Motors’ facility to roll out the world’s least expensive car.
Called the Nano Superdrive, the nine-Nano rally was flagged off Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata, a company official said.
The Superdrive will be a 26-day rally in which the nine Nanos will travel on three different routes identified by Tata Motors. A company spokesperson said each route has been christened after the tri-colour namely ‘The Saffron Route’, ‘The White Route’ and ‘The Green Route’.
The Nano Superdrive will cover a distance of 15,000 km, touring 36 cities across the country before converging at Sanand June 28, the spokesperson said.
Along the route, in every city visited, the cars will halt at landmarks and at malls where customers will have an up-close experience with the Nano and its unique features.
