New Delhi, July 21 (Inditop.com) India’s corporate sector does not need any more stimulus packages, Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia said here Tuesday.
“The budget includes very significant boost in plan expenditure and investment. We don’t need any budget stimulus,” Ahluwalia told reporters on the sidelines of a conference.
Referring to the delayed monsoon, he said its impact on agriculture could be assessed only by the month-end.
“There has been improvement in rainfall this month. Now it’s too early to say about the condition of the monsoon,” Ahluwalia said.
“It’s true that there is a problem, but its impact can be ascertained only when we come to know what the shortfall is.”
According to him, if the shortfall is 5-10 percent, “then there wouldn’t be much impact”.
