Hyderabad, Jan 29 (IANS) Over 50 countries will participate in BioAsia 2015, the annual international life sciences conference scheduled here Feb 2-4.
Over 100 speakers at 40 sessions will speak during the event whose theme is ‘New era of life sciences – opportunities in transition’.
BioAsia provides an opportunity to explore business partnerships between the industry and academia. It will cover contemporary developments in research and will assist in building technology capabilities for life sciences and medical sciences sector, said a statement by the organisers Thursday.
Thailand will be the principal country partner and Britain an associate country partner, it said.
The topics for the sessions include “Drug discovery and India’s innovation pipeline”, “Digital health and healthcare IT”, “Clinical research”, “Supply chain and logistics”, “Rapid diagnostics” and “Public health and Access”.
This year more than 1,000 meetings are expected to happen with over 700 corporate representatives attending the conference.
Shakthi Nagappan, CEO, BioAsia said that the event has an extraordinary line up of global industry leaders and academic experts.
They include Dennis Gillings, executive chairman, Quintiles Inc, Stephen Doberstein, chief scientific officer, Nektar Therapeutics, and Mark Caulfield, director, William Harvey research institute.
The event will witness BioAsia Healthcare Devthon, where engineers and designers develop prototypes to address key healthcare challenges.
BioAsia 2015 is being organised by the Federation of Asian Biotech Association [FABA], government of Telangana and the Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council (Pharmexcil) with the support of the Indian government.
