Mumbai, June 22 (Inditop.com) Indian equities markets came under pressure Monday with profit booking ensuing in energy and PSU stocks. A key index was ruling 143 points down about two hours before the closing bell.
Around 1.30 p.m., the benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, which opened at 14,591.28 points, was trading at 14,422.46 points – 143.17 points or 0.99 percent lower than Friday’s close.
Similarly, the S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) lost 1.34 percent to stand at 4,255.6 points.
Broader market indices too gave up gains, with the BSE midcap index losing 0.22 percent from its previous close, while the BSE smallcap index slid 0.17 percent.
