Mumbai, Aug 12 (Inditop.com) A key index of the Indian equities markets moved up from its intra-day low Wednesday afternoon but was still 221 points lower than its previous close.

At 2.07 p.m., the 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 14,953.44 points, was trading at 14,852.71 points, down 221.88 points or 1.47 percent.

The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) too was in the red at 4,408.4 points, down 1.41 percent.

Broader market indices were also in the negative terrain with the BSE midcap index 0.81 percent down, while the the BSE smallcap index was trading 0.78 percent lower.
