Mumbai, Oct 6 (Inditop.com) A key index of Indian equities markets Tuesday climbed back into the green after ruling in the negative for most of the day. It shut shop 88 points higher than its previous close.
The 30-scrip benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex, which opened at 16,879.38 points, shut shop at 16,949.31 points (provisional), up 82.9 points or 0.49 percent from Monday’s closing figure of 16,866.41 points.
It had slipped 244 points during the day.
The S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) too ended in the positive at 5,024.75 points, up 0.43 percent.
Broader market indices ended mixed, with the BSE midcap index gaining 0.2 percent and the BSE smallcap index losing 0.82 percent.
