New Delhi, Sep 11 (Inditop.com) If you are longing for a holiday break but your leave status is worrying you, here is a chance to grab: just three or four days of leave will fetch you a 10-day vacation during extended weekends later this month.
Eid holiday is likely on Monday, Sep 21. The next four days will be working days when you can opt to apply for a leave, and they are followed by an extended weekend. Monday, Sep 28, is Dussehra holiday. So four days of leave means 10 days of freedom from work – from Sep 19 (Saturday) to Sep 28 (Monday).
Or else consider this option. With Dussehra on Monday and Gandhi Jayanti on Friday, you can skip your office for nine days. But you will have to apply for a three-day leave on Sep 29, 30 and Oct 1 (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). May be worth it! Just three days of leave and nine days of fun.
Many tour and travel operators have already started offering discounted and “attractive” schemes during this period.
Airlines have also started SMS advertising campaigns, luring prospective holiday makers with discounted rates.
Ashok Sharma, a government employee in Delhi, is all set to take his family to Goa. “Yeah, I had calculated it already. You don’t even need to take earned leave. Just a casual leave or sick leave of three-four days will do,” he said.
But for private sector employees, who work six days a week, it is not so easy.
“Not for the people like us who work six days. But for the people with five-day week, the opportunity is worth a catch,” said Ajay Kumar, who works in a publishing house in Delhi.
Those who cannot manage the getaway from Delhi can expect thin attendances in government offices during this period.
