Mumbai, Oct 23 (Inditop.com) Indian markets regulator Friday agreed to extend trading hours at the bourses to 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In a circular issued to stock exchanges and market participants, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) said: “It has been decided to permit the stock exchanges to set their trading hours (in the cash and derivatives segments) between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.”
Currently, trading hours are from 9.55 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.
The SEBI communique also said stock exchanges across the country will be allowed to do so only if they have the adequate risk management system and infrastructure capable of handling the extended trading hours.
