Ahmedabad, July 10 (Inditop.com) A court in Ahmedabad has allowed the police to conduct a narco test on Ashok Jadeja, who is accused of having duped thousands of people of huge sums of money while posing as a godman, an official said Friday.

Jadeja was nabbed with his wife Neetu when he was trying to flee Ahmedabad in a car while carrying cash worth Rs.1.98 crore May 31.

“Considering the complexity of the case, Jadeja’s narco analysis had become a necessity to get the truth out of him,” said a crime branch official, adding that the court had given its nod for the test.

He said the date of the narco test on Jadeja, who is lodged in the Sabarmati jail here, will be known within a week after the completion of necessary legal formalities.

The total size of the fraud alleged against Jadeja runs into several crores of rupees with investigations underway in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and New Delhi, the official added.
