Patna, Sep 27 (Inditop.com) An accused in the massacre of 34 upper caste people escaped from police custody in Bihar’s Jehanabad district when he was being produced before the court Sunday, police said.
Radheyshyam Ramani is an accused in the 1999 caste massacre where Maoists mostly belonging to backward castes attacked the Senari village in Jehanabad district and shot dead 34 upper-caste villagers while they slept, police said.
Ramani escaped from police custody while he was being produced before the Jehanabad district court.
Ramani was arrested Saturday. A manhunt has been launched to nab him, police said.
