Lucknow, June 27 (Inditop.com) A gangster who had 28 criminal cases pending against him was found shot dead in an Uttar Pradesh town, police said Saturday.

“Babloo Dubey’s bullet-ridden body was found today (Saturday) in the fields near Jahanganj town in Azamgarh district,” police inspector O.P. Srivastava told IANS over the telephone.

Even as the reason behind his killing is yet to be ascertained, it appears Dubey, 35 was killed in a gang war, he added.

According to police, of the 28 criminal cases pending against Dubey, six were of murder, while the rest were of abduction, loot and other serious crimes.

Though Dubey primarily operated in Uttar Pradesh, he had links with criminals in Madhya Pradesh and Bihar, police said.

Azamgarh is about 300 km from Lucknow.
