Hyderabad, Nov 16 (Inditop.com) Eight people were killed and 20 injured as explosives stored illegally in a house went off in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur district Monday, police said.

The accident occurred in Narayanpur of Guntur district, about 300 km from here.

Ten houses were damaged in the massive explosion. Rescue workers removed eight bodies from the debris. Officials said the death toll might go up as the work to clear debris was still on.

The blast occurred in gelatine sticks stored illegally in the house of a businessman, who used to sell them to mine owners in the district.

The injured have been admitted to government-run hospitals.
