New Delhi, Nov 19 (Inditop.com) A young boy was injured at an under construction Metro site in south Delhi Thursday when an iron beam on which he was sitting toppled over. The boy and his three other teenage friends were trespassing at the site, a Delhi Metro official said.
The incident occurred around 1.30 p.m. near the under construction Green Park Metro station in south Delhi. The station is on the Central Secretariat to Qutub Minar line of the Metro’s phase II.
According to a Delhi Metro official, four teenage boys were trespassing on the site when the accident occurred.
“The boys entered the site when the barricades were being shifted. They were trespassing. They sat on an iron girder (beam) and were fooling around talking on the phone. The beam got displaced and toppled over and one of the boys got hurt near his ankle,” the official told IANS.
The boy was taken to a nearby hospital, the official added.
“So far, no police case has been registered for the accident or trespassing,” he added.
