Lucknow, Nov 13 (Inditop.com) It was a lucky escape for 10 people sitting inside a truck and a car when their vehicles were hit by a superfast train Friday at an unmanned railway crossing in Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur district, officials said.

The impact of the accident was so severe that the truck and the car were smashed to pieces. Still, those sitting inside the vehicles suffered only cuts, grazes and minor injuries in the collision, the officials added.

“The accident could have claimed manly lives, but with god’s grace no causalty took place,” government railway police (GRP) inspector Indra Dev told reporters in Jaunpur, some 250 km from Lucknow.

“Actually, first the driver of the truck lost control of his vehicle that rammed into the car and then both the vehicles hit the Delhi-bound 0458 Delhi-Varanasi Superfast special train at the Bangha unmanned railway crossing,” he added.

According to police, the injured are being treated at the district hospital and will be discharged soon.
