New Delhi, Oct 23 (Inditop.com) A 38-year-old man wanted in at least 20 cases of murder, extortion and robberies has been arrested here, police said Friday.
Anoop Kumar, who hails from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested Thursday near GTB Hospital in Shahdara here. The police said two pistols and four cartridges were recovered from him.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (special cell) Alok Kumar said Anoop started his criminal career around 10 years ago.
“In 2004, he and his associates were arrested by crime branch of Delhi Police. A total of 52 motorcycles and cars were recovered from their possession then. About three months back, he and his associates kidnapped a city-based trader for ransom,” the officer said.
The police alleged Anoop also worked as a contract killer.
