New Delhi, May 22 (Inditop) As many as 15,839 students scored 90 percent or above in Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 12 results announced Friday.
The number of students who have scored 90 percent or more almost doubled compared to last year. In 2008, 8,253 students scored 90 percent or above.
A total of 8,059 girls and 7,780 boys in the six zones from which results have been announced scored 90 percent or above while 1,020 scored 95 percent.
This year, 637,578 students – 264,248 female and 373,330 male candidates – took the Class 12 exams in the country and abroad.
The overall pass percentage – at 81 – recorded a marginal increase of 0.09 percent over last year. Girls have done better than boys with the pass percentage at 85.94 as compared to 77.40 for boys.
