Chennai, June 2 (IANS) If you’re in Hyderabad or Secunderabad, you’re just a click away from getting home-delivered fresh sweets straight from the interiors of Andhra Pradesh, thanks to a new business venture co-founded by actor Krishna Chaitanya.

Chaitanya’s love for sweets was the inspiration behind www.sweetexperience.co.
“I grew up on traditional Andhra sweets such as Pootharekulu and Kakinada Kaja. Although these were available in Hyderabad, I was never satisfied with the quality. This got me thinking about starting an online portal for all types of traditional sweets,” Chaitanya told IANS.
He has co-founded the company with his friend Ravi, an IIT alumnus and vice president of a social media company.
“Ravi liked the idea of delivering sweets to homes. Some sweets are only available in certain places in Andhra. Our plan was to make all these sweets under one roof. Based on the initial feedback we’ve got from friends and family, we started operations a week ago,” he said.
With approximately 50 to 60 orders a day, Chaitanya and his team are happy with the way things are rolling.
“We’re testing the market, taking it slow. I’m planning to have some kind of celebrity association with the brand to create some visibility. We’ve planned some events as well,” he added.
Asked how he will juggle between films and business, Chaitanya said: “As an actor, I’m not sure what’s ahead of me. I’m not saying I’m insecure about my future but there’s some degree of uncertainty in this profession. This business opportunity will give me some financial support to lean on.”
“Also, when I’m doing a film, I’m extremely busy and when I’m not, I’m mostly free. I can distribute my free time and work towards building brand value for our company,” he added.
Chaitanya’s role will be confined to chief marketing officer. He will market the products and also serve as the company’s spokesperson.
Chaitanya currently has three Telugu films in his kitty.
