Chennai, May 18 (IANS) In its opening weekend, actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna-starrer “Lion”, which released amidst much fanfare, failed to roar at the box office and raked in Rs.11.2 crore in the first four days in the country.

“In four days since its release on Thursday, ‘Lion’ managed to earn a meager share of Rs. 11.2 crore at the box office in India,” trade analyst Trinath told IANS.
“You would expect it to make even more from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana alone but since the film opened to very unsatisfactory word-of-mouth, the numbers dropped from the second day. A big test lies for the movie at the ticket window this week,” he said.
Directed by Satya Deva, “Lion” features Balakrishna in dual role.
The film features Trisha Krishnan and Radhika Apte in the lead roles.
