New Delhi, July 12 (IANS) Gossip, tantrums, sarcastic comments and cold-shouldering – that’s what over 25 popular actresses from the small screen will be doing in Imagine TV’s newest chat show ‘Meethi Chhoorii No.1’.
‘Since the past one year, we at Imagine, are trying to do new things in the reality space. So ‘Meethi Chhoorii No.1′ is another effort towards doing differentiated content in the non-fiction genre,’ Nikhil Madhok, vice president (marketing and communications) of NDTV Imagine, told IANS.
The format of the show is based on a Turner show titled ‘Women Who Rank’, popular in Japan and South Korea.
Madhok says it is a game of ‘perception and reality’.
‘It’s about how two women perceive each other and then discuss reality. It’s a chat show with a difference. With two women celebrities, we expect that the show will throw up a lot of masala and create a lot of talking points,’ added Madhok.
‘The show will have controversies and friendly banter and will be fun for the female viewers. Men can enjoy the fun as well. In due course, we hope the ‘meethi chhooris’ become ‘teekhi chhooris’ to add more fun,’ Madhok added.
‘Meethi Chhoorii No.1’ is expected to feature actors like Ragini Khanna, Shweta Tiwari, Mona Vasu, Sveta Salve, Sakshi Tanwar, Neha Marda and Gauri Pradhan among others. It will be hosted by small screen heartthrobs Shabbir Ahluwalia and Jai Bhanushali.
The channel is looking at launching the show in the second week of August and is yet to decide a suitable time slot.
