New Delhi, Nov 11 (Inditop) After dealing with infidelity, Karan Johar’s next production venture “Dostana” explores male bonding and serves a cocktail of friendship, fun and love with a slight twist. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the film, lavishly shot in Miami, is releasing Friday.
“‘Dostana’ is trying to push the boundaries of male bonding, which is never seen before in Hindi movies. The subject of gay bonding has been a taboo,” Karan was quoted as saying.
Set in Miami, known for its sun kissed beaches, the film has an urbane look and the presence of gen-X actors — John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra in the cast – compliments the theme.
“We are leaving no stone unturned to make ‘Dostana’ a film for all ages, for the young and the old and all those who are looking for genuine and great entertainment,” said Karan.
When Sameer (Abhishek) and Kunal (John) are turned down for an apartment because the landlady doesn’t want two strapping young men to corrupt her young niece Neha (Priyanka Chopra), they go to plan ‘G’ – they pretend to be gay to get the accommodation.
All is well till they meet Neha – both fall in love with her, try to woo her and thus begins a journey of fun, frolic and a test of friendship like never before.
When Neha’s boss Abhimanyu (Bobby Deol) enters the fray as the third contender for her affections, it gets even hotter.
Priyanka has worked hard for her sexy image in the film. The promos of “Dostana” and music have generated enough curiosity to lure the audience to the cinema halls.
