New Delhi, Feb 12 (Inditop.com)  The union home ministry will review later Friday the security situation in Maharashtra following violence by the Shiv Sena protesting the release Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s movie “My Name is Khan”.

“The ministry will review the situation and send a report to the state government on what precautions need to be taken if necessary,” a home ministry official told Inditop.

The meeting will be chaired by Home Secretary G.K. Pillai, Special Secretary (Internal Security) U.K. Bansal and Special Secretary (State-Centre Relations) Anita Chaudhary.

There was no first show of Shah Rukh Khan’s much discussed “My Name Is Khan” in Mumbai Friday morning as theatre owners shied away from exhibiting the film following violence by the Shiv Sena. But by noon some of the multiplexes started screening the film and others were expected to do the same later in the day.

The movie was originally scheduled to hit 63 cinema halls in Mumbai. It ran into trouble as Shiv Sainiks started going on the rampage Tuesday, to protest Shah Rukh’s statement that Pakistani cricketers should have been included in this year’s edition of the Indian Premier League.
