Bhubaneswar, May 20 (Inditop) Sabir Bux, an internationally acclaimed scuba diver, is now all set to feature in an Egyptian television serial “Tasmatas”, expected to go live in the Middle East this August.
Bux told Inditop he plays the role of a music teacher in the serial that would be telecast by Channel-2 of Middle East Broadcasting Corporation.
The serial is based on the true love story of a music teacher and his two students. While the teacher hails from Kerala, the students are Egyptian.
“Samir Salim, the producer of the serial, saw me in a television show three years ago and contacted me. He wanted me to play the role,” Bux said, adding that he shot for the series in Jordan for four days in February and 10 days in April.
The series will have 45 episodes and Bux will appear in six of them. “My part of the shooting is over,” he said.
Born on July 10, 1966 in Orissa’s steel city Rourkela, Bux earlier featured in some Oriya music albums. Currently he is based in Cuttack, some 26 km from here.
Bux also entered the “Guinness Book of World Records” by crooning for a cricket album underwater in Saudi Arabia in 2007. Bux claims he stayed underwater for over seven hours.
