New Delhi, June 23 (IANS) The refreshed look of Star Plus seems to have worked in its favour as the channel has achieved an all time high of 443 gross rating points – the highest achieved by any general entertainment channel in the past three years, according to data by TAM Media Research.

‘We feel vindicated and humbled by the immense popularity being showered upon our channel – both on its recent offerings as well as ongoing shows. Achieving 443 GRPs is no mean feat. I would like to reiterate that we will ensure that we provide our viewers with great content that is both entertaining and relevant,’ Anupam Vasudev, executive vice president (marketing), said in a press release.

The channel recently refreshed its brand philosophy – ‘Rishte Wahi, Soch Nayi’ – announced 12 days ago. The logo was changed to a ruby red star.

‘The step we took as India’s leading network to refresh our identity and philosophy is our endeavour and commitment to further deepen our bonds with our viewers. We aim to do this with top-of-the-line content that reflects our philosophy ‘Rishte Wahi, Soch Nayi’ – a fresh perspective on life and relationships,’ added Vasudev.

Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Taryay Liyay’ – one of their most recent launch – opened with a rating of 3.8 TVR (television rating), which is the best opening and launch average for a show on Star Plus in the last one year since ‘Laadli Bebo’.

The ratings of other recently launched shows and their top-rated shows also received a boost.
