Chennai, May 14 (IANS) Tamil actor Silambarasan aka Simbu’s much delayed Tamil actioner “Vaalu”, which was believed to have been shelved, has been brought out of the cans by his actor-filmmaker father T. Rajendar. He has picked up the Tamil Nadu distribution rights of the movie and has plans to release it soon.

“Simbu’s father decided to intervene after he was unhappy with the long delay in the release of ‘Vaalu’. As of now, May 22 and June 12 are being considered as likely dates for release.
“There were plans to release the film on June 5, but since it happens to be the first week after summer vacation, the makers have skipped the idea,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS.
“Vaalu” features Simbu and his former girlfriend Hansika Motwani in the lead. It is directed by debutant Vijay Chander.
While the exact reason for the delay in the release of the movie is unknown, it is believed to have been due to some financial problems that producer S.S. Chakravarthy has been facing.
“Producer Chakravarthy owes a lot of money (to people), because of which he had to hold the release of the movie for over a year. Knowing this, Rajendar came to his son Simbu’s rescue and bought the film’s rights. He even managed to convince distributors to pick up the movie at a fancy price,” the source said.
While “Vaalu” is gearing up for release, Simbu has signed three new projects. He has already started shooting for Gautham Vasudev Menon’s “Achcham Enbadhu Madamaiyada “.
He has also signed a yet-untitled project with Selvaraghavan and another film with Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi is in offing.
