Raipur, Dec 31 (Inditop.com) Chhattisgarh has recorded its third death due to swine flu, a health official said Thursday.
The first casualty in the state was reported in August.
The influenza A (H1N1) virus killed a woman at Raipur-based Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Government Medical College and Hospital.
“Varkha Bajaj, 32, died at the hospital Tuesday but we received her swine flu sample test ‘positive’ from Delhi only in the early hours Thursday. The sample was sent for testing to the national capital almost 10 days back,” T.K. Agrawal, Chhattisgarh nodal officer for swine flu, told Inditop.
He said presently the state has 41 swine flu patients and all are under treatment in state capital Raipur.
