Riyadh, July 30 (Xinhua) Saudi Arabia Thursday reported the second A/H1N1 flu death in the country, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said citing the health ministry.
A 28-year-old Indonesian woman was taken to Dammam central hospital Monday and died Thursday, the ministry said.
This is the third A/H1N1 death report in Arab countries since July 19.
Egypt confirmed July 19 the first influenza A/H1N1 death, a 28-year-old Egyptian woman who came back from Saudi Arabia after making Umrah (pilgrimage to Makkah at any time of the year).
Arab health ministers July 24 agreed to exclude certain groups including the elderly, children and the ill from Muslim pilgrimage in a bid to curb the spread of A/H1N1 flu.
So far, the new flu virus has caused more than 135,000 infections in over 160 countries and regions, and about 800 people have died after being infected by the disease worldwide, according to latest figures released by the World Health Organisation.
