London, Oct 2 (Inditop.com) Actor Dennis Hopper of “Easy Rider” fame has been discharged from hospital after receiving treatment for dehydration.
The 73-year-old was admitted to a New York medical centre Wednesday after suffering stomach problems.
“Dennis is now back in his hotel room and feeling much better. Dennis would like to thank everyone for their well wishes and he looks forward to getting back to work,” contactmusic.com quoted his manager Sam Maydew as saying.
It was initially reported that the actor was suffering from flu-like symptoms, but further details of his illness have not been released.
Hopper was in New York to promote his new television series “Crash”, which is based on the 2004 Oscar-winning movie about racial and social tensions in Los Angeles. He plays music producer Ben Cendars.
The actor’s illness has forced him to cancel a number of appearances on TV and promotional interviews about the show.
Hopper is due to begin filming dark comedy “A Beginner’s Guide to Endings”, about three brothers who try to rectify the mistakes they have made in their lives when they discover they are about to die, with J.K. Simmons, Tricia Helfer and Scott Caan.
