Tragic DJ AM was putting the finishing touches to an MTV reality series about drug abuse and intervention when he died on Friday (28Aug09).
The former drug abuser was shooting Gone Too Far, which was set to air later this year (09).
Ironically, he suffered a reported drug overdose in his New York apartment and was found dead on Friday evening.
The New York Post is reporting that drug paraphernalia was found in the apartment.
In a recent interview about Gone Too Far, with U.S. TV news show Extra, DJ AM – real name Adam Goldstein – reflected on the need for intervention for drug abuse, stating, “It’s life or death, some of these people have come so close to dying, just as I did… I had no shot, but it’s never too late.”
It is not known if MTV will air the eight episodes of Gone Too Far DJ AM shot before his death.
