Tragic DJ ADAM GOLDSTEIN’s relatives are in talks with sportswear giant Nike to decide whether they should press ahead with the release of a sneaker range he designed before his death.

The club icon, known as DJ AM, was found dead in his downtown New York apartment last week (28Aug09) amid rumours of a possible drug overdose. He was aged 36.

A raft of Hollywood pals, including Lindsay Lohan, Robert Downey Jr. and ex-girlfriend Nicole Richie, turned out to pay their respects at a special memorial service in Los Angeles on Thursday night (03Sep09).

The star’s devastated family is reportedly set to take over his business dealings, including the limited edition sneaker designs he drew up for Nike.

A spokesperson for the brand tells TMZ.com the company had worked with the star for several months, and had approved all designs and prototypes with Goldstein.

But the rep adds it will come down to the beatmaker’s family as to how the “next step in terms of release” will take shape
