London, May 1 (Inditop.com) Hollywood actress Dame Elizabeth Taylor gave an emotional tribute to ex-husband Richard Burton at a gala cermony held in the memory of the late actor at Buckingham Palace.

She presented a bronze bust of Burton to Prince Of Wales to be kept in a theatre named after him.

Prince Charles announced that a new theatre based in Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Wales will be named after Burton, and that the bust will stand in the theatre’s foyer.

“Richard would have been so deeply touched by this great honour, as am I,” express.co.uk quoted Taylor as saying in a ceremony, which also marked the 60th anniversary of the college.

“It is wonderful to be here and join in this celebration, along with many others who remember and respect Richard with so much love in their hearts,” she added.

The 160-seat Richard Burton Theatre will open next spring and is part of a 22.5 million pounds (about $34 million) development project at the college in Cardiff along with a 450-seat concert hall, four acting and movement studios, and an exhibition gallery.

Taylor and Burton married in 1964 but divorced in 1974. They re-married the following year but the second union lasted less than 12 months. Burton died in 1984.
