The woman behind smash-hit TV series TRUE BLOOD insists the world is obsessed with vampires because they never die, age or feel frail.
Charlaine Harris, who penned the book that inspired TV writer Alan Ball to create a new vampire drama, is convinced people no longer look at the undead bloodsuckers as monsters – but would rather like to be one.
The author says, “We’re all obsessed with youth and staying in peak condition. Vampires don’t have to go to the gym. They don’t have to die. They don’t have to go on (diet plan) NutriSystem. They don’t have to have new knees.
“They don’t get high blood pressure – they don’t have blood pressure. It’s all effortless for them, and I think we’re all going, ‘Gosh, that sure looks good!'”
