Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh), April 30 (IANS) Drilling a hole in the wall of their cell, 12 teenagers have escaped from a high-security juvenile home in Uttar Pradesh, police said Saturday.
The inmates, aged between 13-16 years and convicted for various crimes, including murder, escaped late Friday from the juvenile centre near Kotwali in Muzaffarnagar, around 350 km from Lucknow.
‘They made a large hole in the wall and escaped. Officials found them missing Saturday morning during a routine inspection,’ Police Inspector Vinod Kumar Sirohi told reporters here.
He said a search is on and that the staff is also being questioned.
