Lucknow, June 3 (IANS) A 12-year-old boy in Uttar Pradesh killed his 10-year-old brother in a fit of rage and dumped the body in a nearby farm, police said Thursday.
The incident in Hasuapur village of Barabanki district took place Tuesday. But it came to light only on Thursday when police recovered the body following a complaint from the parents that their younger son was missing.
‘The 12-year-old strangulated his younger brother, Umesh Raidas, after getting into an argument with him while playing,’ Superintendent of Police Navneet Rana told reporters in Barabanki, some 35 km from Lucknow.
‘Acting on the complaint registered by the parents of Umesh, who went missing Tuesday evening, we launched a search and recovered his body from the farm,’ he added.
While carrying out investigations, police found he was last seen with his elder brother. ‘When we interrogated him (Umesh’s brother), he confessed his crime and said it was done in a fit of rage,’ said Rana.
Police have registered a case against the 12-year-old, who will be produced before a Juvenile Court.
